The Government of Rajasthan Finance (Excise) Department issued a notification on 13th March, 2024, proposing an amendment to the Rajasthan Excise Rules, 1956. The notification specifies that the proposed draft rules will be published in the Official Gazette and made available to the public, with a 10-day period for the submission of objections or suggestions. These Rules shall come into force from 1st April, 2024.
The draft rules, titled the Rajasthan Excise (Draft Amendment) Rules, 2024, include an amendment, introducing a new clause that requires every wholesale licensee of hemp to pay a permit fee of Rs. 1.00 per kilogram for the transportation of hemp.
