The Finance Department of Puducherry issued a notification on November 13th 2024 issued a notification regarding the Dearness Allowance (DA) for regular government employees has been increased from 50% to 53%, effective from July 1, 2024. This hike is in line with the recommendations of the 7th Central Pay Commission.
Importantly, the wages of Full-Time Casual Labourers (FTCL) in various government departments across the Union Territory will also be revised with the new DA rate. These changes, set to take effect from July 1, 2024, will ensure that FTCLs receive updated compensation in line with the enhanced DA applicable to regular employees.
Though the detailed wage structure is provided in an annexure, the key point is that this move will result in a higher wage for FTCLs, reflecting the increased cost-of-living adjustments.
