Public Input Sought on “Innovative Projects” Component of PM-Surya Ghar Yojana

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) is seeking public feedback on the “Innovative Projects” component of the PM-Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana. An office memorandum seeking comments was issued on September 14, 2024.

It may be recalled that the government launched the PM-Surya Ghar Yojana in February 2024 with the goal of installing rooftop solar panels in one crore (ten million) Indian households.

The initiative aims to promote solar energy usage and reduce dependence on conventional electricity sources. The total project outlay is Rs. 75,021 crore.

The draft guidelines for the Innovative Projects component are available for review. Stakeholders can submit feedback electronically by September 23, 2024. This feedback shall be provided electronically to rts-mnre@gov.in and pmu-rts@gov.in
