Public Holidays in Delhi for the Year 2025

The Government of the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi, on November 13th 2024  has officially released the list of public holidays for the year 2025. This notification, issued by the General Administration Department, declares certain days as public holidays in Delhi under the provisions of Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881.

In addition to the traditional holidays celebrated across India, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has also designated April 1, 2025, as a public holiday for the annual closing of bank accounts. This is in line with RBI guidelines.

Special Bank Holiday: April 1, 2025

As per the Reserve Bank of India’s guidelines, April 1, 2025, is also declared as a public holiday under Section 25 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, 1881. This is specifically for the annual closing of bank accounts, and all banking institutions in Delhi will remain closed for this purpose.
