Public Hearing on Electricity Transmission Charges and Losses Rescheduled for January 3rd

The Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (CERC) has announced the postponement of the public hearing on the Draft Central Electricity Regulatory Commission (Sharing of Inter-State Transmission Charges and Losses) (Fourth Amendment) Regulations, 2024. This public notice was issued on December 12, 2024.

The public hearing was previously scheduled for December 11, 2024. It will now be held on Friday, January 3, 2025, at 10:30 AM.

The draft amendment focuses on revising regulations regarding the sharing of inter-state transmission charges and losses, particularly for renewable energy sources like green hydrogen and wind power projects.

The CERC invites participation from a wide range of stakeholders including:

  • Central and State Governments
  • Load Dispatch Centers
  • State Utilities
  • CPSUs (Central Public Sector Undertakings)  
  • Transmission Licensees
  • Trading Licensees
  • Power Exchanges
  • Individual Experts
  • NGOs
  • Independent Power Producers (IPPs)
  • Financial Institutions
  • Consultancy Firms
  • Any other relevant organizations

How to Participate:

The hearing will be conducted online via video conferencing. The CERC will share the Microsoft Teams link for the public hearing with registered participants.

If you or your organization wishes to participate, please register by January 1, 2025. Inform the CERC of the number of participants and whether you intend to make a presentation.

Presentations are limited to 5-10 minutes and 8-10 slides. Submit presentation materials by January 1, 2025 to ecourtastt101@cercind.gov.in and shilpa@cercind.gov.in
