The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change vide notice dated 30 June, 2022 has published a proposal for amendment of Air (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Act of 1981 for inviting comments and suggestions from public and stakeholders. The proposed amendment seeks decriminalization of contraventions to eliminate imprisonment for violation of provisions under the act and thereby reduce compliance burden for stakeholders and facilitate ease of doing business.
Comments and suggestions shall be mailed to pli-mefcc@gov.in within 21st July 2022.
