In a significant development aimed at fortifying the administrative framework of the Directorate of Plant Protection, Quarantine, and Storage, the President of India has amended the Directorate of Plant Protection, Quarantine, and Storage, Toxicology Recruitment Rules, 2021. These amendment rules come into force from December 27, 2023.
The newly introduced regulations are titled the “Directorate of Plant Protection, Quarantine and Storage, Toxicology Recruitment (Amendment) Rules, 2023.
One notable modification pertains to the post of Plant Protection Officer (Toxicology). In the existing Directorate of Plant Protection, Quarantine and Storage, Toxicology Recruitment Rules, 2021, the service category, sees a significant alteration. The previous entry will be substituted with the designation “General Central Service, Group B Gazetted, Non-Ministerial.”
This change signifies a reclassification of the service group for the Plant Protection Officer (Toxicology) role, reflecting a nuanced adjustment to the administrative structure within the Directorate. The move is expected to enhance the efficiency and functionality of the Directorate of Plant Protection, Quarantine, and Storage, aligning it with evolving needs and standards.
