The Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare has notified the Plant Quarantine (Regulation of Import into India) (First Amendment) Order, 2024. This Order was notified on January 9, 2024 and comes into force from that same date.
The Order amends the Plant Quarantine (Regulation of Import into India) Order, 2003. It revises the list of Inland Container Depots and Container Freight Stations for import of plants and plant products.
The present Order adds two more Plant Quarantine Stations to that list. These stations are situated in Goa and Maharashtra. These are listed as follows:
- Plant Quarantine Station, Goa
- Regional Plant Quarantine Station, Maharashtra.
