The Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) has initiated the process for disbursing the Pradhan Mantri Scholarship for Pharmacy Post Graduate Studies (PMSPPS) to eligible students. This scholarship offers financial aid of Rs. 12,400 per month for a maximum of 24 months to full-time GPAT-qualified students enrolled in PCI-approved postgraduate programs.
As per a recent communication from the PCI, institutions need to take certain steps to facilitate the scholarship disbursement.
The scholarship is available to GPAT-qualified students admitted to postgraduate pharmacy programs (M.Pharm) in institutions and university departments approved by the PCI.
To ensure smooth scholarship disbursement, the PCI requires institutions to confirm details of all eligible students. This will involve a student linking process implemented on a dedicated scholarship portal.
Each institution must appoint two nodal officers. One will act as the “maker” with authorization from the Principal/Head of the Institution. The other will serve as the “checker”, typically the Principal themselves. These officers will manage the student linking process on the scholarship portal.
Institutions must complete the following actions by November 29, 2024:
- Appoint nodal officers (maker and checker)
- Fill out the online form for nodal officer details: https://forms.gle/Rjp6Vy6hN7FPVd7R7
- Upload all necessary documents as requested by the PCI
This initiative by the PCI aims to provide significant financial support to deserving students pursuing postgraduate studies in pharmacy. By following the outlined steps, institutions can ensure their eligible students receive the Pradhan Mantri Scholarship for Pharmacy Post Graduate Studies.
