The Pharmacy Council has taken strict action against registered pharmacists found to have created fake or misleading profiles on the DIGI-PHARMed Portal. Following an analysis of profile data, the Council discovered several discrepancies, leading to the blacklisting of numerous individuals. This circular was issued December 27, 2024.
The Council’s analysis revealed the following key issues:
- Many pharmacists created multiple profiles using the same Aadhaar or PAN number. In some cases, these duplicate profiles showed the same individual working as faculty at different institutions simultaneously.
- Some pharmacists provided invalid or fake Aadhaar or PAN card details, such as incorrect digit counts, text entries in numeric fields, incomplete PAN numbers, or other invalid inputs.
- Some profiles of faculty members lacked State Pharmacy Council registration numbers.
- Many profiles, including those of faculty members, lacked educational or experience details.
- Some pharmacists used invalid mobile numbers or email addresses to create fake profiles.
As decided in the 421st EC Meeting, the Council has taken the following actions:
- All registered pharmacists found to have engaged in these activities have been permanently blacklisted on the DIGI-PHARMed Portal.
- Any pharmacist found repeating these activities will be permanently debarred from future registration on the portal.
- User accounts with no educational details will have their access restricted.
The Council has also issued a notice to institutions, urging them to verify all necessary details on faculty members’ DIGI-PHARMed profiles during the joining process. This will ensure that only valid and complete profiles are recognized.
