The Department of Consumer Affairs vide notification dated 23 July 2020 has commenced the operation of certain provisions of the Consumer Protection Act 2019 with effect from 24 July 2020. The New Act came into effect on 20 July 2020. The provisions relating to Central Consumer Protection Authority, Consumer Dispute Redressal Commission and offences & Penalties are hereby brought into effect.
