The Pharmacy Council of India on 26th September 2022, has directed all the hospitals, nursing homes, institutes etc to utilize and promote the use of khadi goods in their institutions in order to promote rural economy.
All doctors and college/hospital managements are advised to encourage/ include the usage of khadi products which are specially designed and manufactured for medical professionals such as bed-sheets, apron, patient’s gown, soaps etc in their institutes, hospitals, nursing homes etc and help in providing employment and building up a self-reliant and strong rural economy.
The khadi products are not only beneficial for health but also eco-friendly, therefore doctors are mandatorily advised to wear white coat made of khadi during their duty hours.
