Online Filling Of Information On Medical Colleges Admission For 1st Year MBBS Degree

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has introduced a new online system for monitoring admissions to MBBS programs across India. This notification was issued on October 29, 2024.

This initiative aims to ensure transparency and adherence to regulations in the medical education sector.

All admissions must comply with the National Medical Commission Act, 2019, and the Graduate Medical Education Regulations, 2023 and related notifications.

Admissions are limited by sanctioned intake capacity and eligibility criteria, including age, NEET scores, and qualifying exam results. Admissions must be conducted through a centralized counseling process for both government and private colleges.

Any violation of the regulations can lead to student expulsion, fines for institutions, and even a ban on admitting students for subsequent years.

Online Monitoring System

The NMC has launched a dedicated online platform to monitor admissions. Medical colleges are required to submit all details of admitted MBBS students for the academic year 2024-25 through this system.

Details to be Submitted

  1. College details:
    • category,
    • minority status,
    • counseling authority

    • NEET roll number,
    • merit rank,
    • category,
    • date of birth,

Colleges must submit all information by November 8, 2024, beyond which the system will be inaccessible. The NMC will verify the information submitted by colleges. Any false or incorrect data may lead to legal action against the institutions. Colleges facing difficulties with the online system can reach out to the NMC support team for assistance.

Colleges are also mandated to display specific student admission details on their respective websites. The format for such display is as follows:
