The Indian Nursing Council (INC) has announced an extension of the admission deadline for all nursing programs for the academic year 2024-25. This comes as a response to requests from various states seeking additional time for student enrollment. This notification was issued on October 28, 2024.
The last date for admission for all nursing programs (ANM, GNM, B.Sc. (N), PBB.Sc. (N), M.Sc. (N), Post Basic Diploma, and NPCC) has been extended to November 30, 2024.
This extension allows for two separate batches for B.Sc. Nursing:
- Students admitted by October 31, 2024, will be considered part of the regular batch.
- Students admitted between November 1st and November 30th, 2024, will be considered part of the irregular batch.
Universities/Colleges of Nursing will conduct separate examinations for the regular and irregular batches for B.Sc. (N) programs.
Institutions must strictly adhere to INC guidelines regarding curriculum completion and attendance requirements. Specific points include:
- Minimum 80% attendance (theory and practical) for all courses/subjects in B.Sc. (N) to appear for exams.
- 100% attendance in all practical areas for B.Sc. (N) degree award.
- Minimum 80% attendance (theory and practical) in all subjects for GNM program to appear for exams. Completion of clinical/field requirements for diploma award.
- At least 80% completion of all clinical requirements and acquisition of listed competencies before appearing for the final ANM exam and receiving the certificate/diploma.
This extension aims to facilitate student enrollment and ensure a smooth academic year for all nursing programs.
