Nurses Warned of Fraudulent Calls Regarding Registration and Tracking System

The Indian Nursing Council (INC) has issued an alert warning nurses across the country about fraudulent phone calls being made by individuals posing as officials from the Nurse Registration and Tracking System (NRTS). This notice was issued on January 6, 2025.

The fraudsters have been targeting nursing officers, particularly women, and threatening them with registration cancellation if they do not comply with their instructions.

The INC has clarified that it does not contact nurses via phone regarding NRTS matters. Any official communication from the INC regarding NRTS is conducted exclusively through email, and only in cases where nurses are experiencing technical difficulties with the enrollment process.

The INC urges all nurses enrolled in the NRTS to exercise extreme caution and adhere to the following guidelines:

  1. Do not trust any phone calls claiming to be from the INC regarding NRTS.
  2. Never disclose personal details such as registration numbers, bank account information, or passwords to unknown callers.
  3. Immediately block any phone numbers from which these fraudulent calls originate.
