NSE introduces Dummy Contracts in Master Files

The National Stock Exchange (NSE) on December 22, 2022, issued a notification on Dummy Contracts in Master Files.

In the continuous endeavor to optimize and strengthen the trading platform, Exchange shall perform internal order/trade activity every trading day before the start of market hours as part of pre-market sanity checks. In view of the above, dummy contracts and symbols on existing instrument types FUTCUR and FUTIRC, shall be incorporated in contract master files.

In this regard, market participants are requested to note that the inclusion of dummy contracts and symbols in contract master files is purely intended for internal testing of the Exchange, hence, market participants shall ignore receipt of any such data in the form of report/feed/broadcast.

The above change shall be effective from the trade date of January 09, 2023.
