NPPA extends price cap on liquid medical oxygen and oxygen inhalation up to March, 2022.

The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority vide its notification dated 28th December 2021 has extended the period for price cap on liquid medical oxygen (LMO) and oxygen inhalation (medicinal gas) from the current December 31 to 31st March 2022.

As per the earlier notification, medical oxygen’s price has been fixed at Rs. 15.22 per cubic meter (exclusive of GST) at manufactures’ end and its price at fillers’ end has been fixed at Rs. 25.71 per cubic meter, subject to transportation cost fixation at state level. Due to excess demand, delivery through cylinders has increased from 11% pre-Covid to 50% of current oxygen supply.
