The National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority vide its notification dated 29th June 2020 has directed all the manufacturers and importers of pulse oximeter and oxygen concentrator to submit maximum retail price (MRP) of respective products within 10 days from the date of issue of this order (i.e 29th June 2020)
The maximum retail price of medical devices cannot be increased by more than 10% in a year and in order to monitor the price movement of critical medical equipment required in clinical management of COVID-19, it has been decided to call for MRP details of the above medical devices from the manufacturers. A soft copy of the same shall also be sent to the medicaldevices-nppa@gov.in.
Manufacturers/importers of medical devices are supposed to ensure compliance of the provisions of para 20 of DPCO 2013 failing which action may be initiated for violation of provisions of DPCO 2013 read with Essential Commodities (EC) Act 1955.
