The “Kabir Puraskar” award for the act of social and communal harmony will be presented by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu every year during Republic Day Celebrations. Any Indian citizen residing in Tamil Nadu (other than members of the Armed Forces, Police Forces and Members recognized Fire Services, Government Servants, if the act performed by them falls in the sphere of their duty) are eligible for this award. The Press release was released from Tamil Nadu Government in the date of 30.11.2023.
The award is given for act of physical/moral courage and humanity exhibited by members of one community in saving the lives and properties of the members of another community during communal riots. This award consisting of three categories and the cheque for Rs.20,000/-, Rs.10,000/- and Rs.5,000/- with citation will be given to three persons respectively. The awardees will be selected by the selection committee constituted for this award. The award will be presented to the awardee by the Hon’ble Chief Minister during the Republic Day Celebrations on 26th January 2024. The applications which are not received within the prescribed time will be rejected. The eligible nominations for “Kabir Puraskar” award for the year 2024 will be received only on the online portal https://awards.tn.gov.in designed for this purpose on or before 15.12.2023.
