NMC To Prioritize Appeals For Broad Specialty PG Medical Courses

The National Medical Commission (NMC) is currently prioritizing appeals related to starting or increasing postgraduate (PG) medical course seats. This prioritization has been decided upon due to the time-sensitive nature of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) PG counselling process. A public notice on this decision was issued on July 3, 2024.

Appeals concerning decisions by the Medical Advisory and Registration Board (MARB) will be addressed in two phases:

  1. Phase 1 (July 2024): Appeals for Broad Specialty PG courses will be heard first.
  2. Phase 2 (August 2024): Appeals for Super Specialty PG courses will be addressed.

Colleges intending to appeal against MARB’s decision on PG courses are urged to submit their appeals within the stipulated timeframe. The NMC will communicate the results of both phases together, including any appeals already heard.

This prioritization ensures a smoother NEET PG counselling process by focusing on Broad Specialty courses with earlier deadlines.
