The National Medical Commission (NMC) has issued a public notice notifying its Draft National Medical Commission (Amendment) Bill, 2022. The notice was issued on 29th December, 2022.
The following amendments are sought to be incorporated:
- Set up Fifth Autonomous Board, namely Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences, under NMC
- Incorporate provision that jurisdiction of cases fled by medical colleges/ institutions in matters related to NMC shall be the Delhi High Court only
- Incorporate precision for patients/ relatives/ complainant to prefer appeal in Ethics and Medical Registration Board/ NMC against decision/ action of State Medical Council in complaints relating to medical negligence/ professional misconduct.
Suggestions/ comments/ objections on any provisions of the proposed amendment are invited from the public. The same shall be forwarded by 28th January, 2023.
