NMC mandates all medical colleges to ensure uninterrupted live feed from the cameras installed in premises and an aadhar enabled biometric attendance system

The National Medical Commission (NMC) vide circular dated 19 October 2022, has advised all the medical colleges and institutions to upgrade their internet bandwidth to a minimum of 100 mbps to ensure that the NMC gets an uninterrupted live feed from the cameras installed in premises.

The National Medical Commission (NMC) on 27th July 2022, has advised all the medical colleges and institutions to install cameras in their institute premises with specifications of the cameras – DVR with High Procession Power with networking for remote accessibility, recommended with 16 channels and CCTV cameras with 4K resolution. As per the advisory, minimum of 25 cameras has to be installed covering all the important places. one at the main entrance of the hospital and college, two at the patient registration centre, and five cameras at the OPDs depending on the number of OPDs in the medical college and it should cover Medicine OPD, Surgical OPD, Gynaecological OPD, Paediatrics OPD, Ortho OPD etc. 

To ensure further security, all colleges are directed to install Aadhar enabled biometric attendance system in colleges.
