NMC initiates Collaboration with National Level Medical Fraternity Associations and Organisations

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has reached out to National Level organizations and associations representing Registered Medical Practitioners (RMPs) in India. Acknowledging the crucial role played by RMPs in delivering healthcare services, especially in rural and underserved areas, the NMC seeks to address the challenges faced by these dedicated medical professionals in accessing continuing medical education and professional development opportunities. A public notice to this effect was issued on 26th July, 2023.

RMPs form an integral part of India’s healthcare landscape, providing essential medical care to communities that often lack access to specialized facilities. Their tireless efforts in delivering primary care services contribute significantly to the well-being of citizens across the nation. However, these dedicated medical practitioners often encounter obstacles in acquiring access to continuous learning and skill development programs.

In response to these challenges, the Ethics & Medical Registration Board (EMRB) of the National Medical Commission is taking proactive measures. EMRB is working on drafting a Conduct Regulation on Continuing Professional Development (CPD).

To facilitate this collaboration, the NMC is seeking the assistance of National Level organizations and associations representing RMPs across various medical specialties and super-specialties.

The NMC has invited Presidents and Secretaries of these organizations and associations for an interactive session at the National Medical Commission. The NMC and EMRB are eager to address any questions or concerns raised by the representatives of these organizations during the interactive session.

To streamline the collaboration process, the NMC requests the organizations and associations to provide the updated contact details of their President and Secretary. This information can be submitted through the attached Google Form and should reach the NMC by 4th August, 2023.
