The National Medical Commission (NMC) has clarified on the recognition and continuance of recognition for MBBS batches admitted up to 2018-2019. This clarification was issued on 11th July, 2023.
It may be recalled that in 2023 the NMC had granted recognition and continuance of recognition for MBBS batches admitted in 2018-2019. NMC has now considered the hardships faced by medical students in obtaining permanent registration in the absence of recognised medial qualifications. It has therefore clarified that the recognition and continuance of recognition granted in 2023 for MBBS batches includes those batches admitted up to 2018-2019.
