The Board of Practical Training (Eastern Region) on December 31st 2024 has issued a notice regarding the Facilitate Training & Placement (FTP) module available on the NATS 2.0 portal. This module allows establishments to issue Award/Call Letters to eligible students for joining as apprentices.
Key Points of the Notice:
FTP Module Activation:
- The FTP module on the NATS 2.0 portal has been in operation since 4th December 2024. Establishments willing to hire apprentices must start preparing a list and issue Award/Call Letters to eligible students starting 1st January 2025.
Grievances Addressed:
- A few issues were identified, particularly with Diploma in Mining Engineering students, where their profiles were not appearing correctly in the FTP logic of the portal. This was due to missing mandatory fields in the profiles when they migrated from NATS 1.0 to NATS 2.0.
- A communication was sent to all affected students asking them to update their profiles by 29th December 2024. This was done via SMS, emails, and public notices in leading newspapers across the Eastern Region.
Profile Updates:
- The Board has noted that many students, especially Diploma in Mining Engineering graduates, have successfully updated their profiles on the NATS 2.0 portal. However, any students who did not update their profiles by the deadline are presumed to be no longer interested in participating.
Implementation from 1st January 2025:
- As of 1st January 2025, the FTP panel will be fully functional for all industries/establishments. This panel will be used for the preparation of lists of students from both general and technical streams, especially those with Diplomas in Mining Engineering.
- Establishments are advised to make use of the FTP module to issue Award/Call Letters and ensure that the required quotas for apprenticeships are filled.
Reminder to Establishments:
- All establishments are reminded to immediately fulfill their apprentice quotas using the FTP module. They are also required to create contracts of apprenticeship to ensure compliance with the regulations and avoid non-compliance notices.
Conclusion:
From 1st January 2025, it is mandatory for all industries and establishments to use the FTP module on the NATS 2.0 portal for hiring apprentices. Establishments must ensure that they fulfill their apprentice quotas and create the necessary contracts to comply with the rules.
This update aims to streamline the process of hiring apprentices and improve the efficiency of the National Apprenticeship Training Scheme (NATS) in the Eastern Region of India.
