New Mobile Inspection App Streamlines PCI Inspection Process

The Pharmacy Council of India (PCI) has launched an updated mobile application, “PCI Inspection V2” to enhance the efficiency and security of its inspection processes. It has published a circular disclosing the Do’s and Don’ts for inspectors using this application. This circular was published on June 21, 2024.

Key Features and Requirements

  • Data Security: Inspectors must prioritize data security by safeguarding sensitive information and avoiding unauthorized access.
  • Complete Checklists: All inspection modules within the app must be completed before submitting a report.
  • Storage Management: Sufficient storage space is necessary to conduct inspections and capture photos.
  • Regular Updates: Maintaining the app with the latest updates ensures compliance and smooth operation. Check for updates before each inspection.
  • Login Credentials: Use the provided username and password for login. The username format is “BH-P-” followed by numeric digits only.
  • Reliable Internet: A strong and stable internet connection (4G/5G preferred) is crucial. Utilizing the institution’s high-speed Wi-Fi is recommended.
  • Real-Time Data Entry: Record inspection findings directly within the app for accurate and timely reporting. Enable location services to geotag captured photos.
  • QR Code Scanning: Ensure accurate scanning of QR codes for proper verification. Confirm that all scanned codes are unique.
  • Feedback Mechanism: Report any concerns or issues encountered during inspections using the designated email address provided by PCI. For urgent matters, a helpline number is also available.
  • Report Submission: Submit inspection reports only after completing all modules within the application.
  • TA/DA Claims: Use the mobile app to submit bills and invoices for travel allowances and daily allowances claimed from PCI.

The official app, “PCI Inspection V2,” is available exclusively through the Google Play Store. Inspectors should avoid using outdated versions or other apps claiming to be from PCI. For optimal performance, inspectors are required to use devices with at least 8GB RAM, 128GB storage (higher preferred), and Android 12 or later.
