New Amendments to Himachal Pradesh PSC Regulations

The Government of Himachal Pradesh notifies on the new amendments made to The Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (Exemption from Consultation) Regulations, 1973 on July 16th 2024. The new regulations are called The Himachal Pradesh Public Service Commission (Exemption from Consultation) (35th Amendment) Regulations, 2024.
Key Updates:
1. Changes in Recruitment Processes:
Group-C Posts: For most Group-C jobs, the recruitment process will no longer need to be reviewed by the PSC (Public Service Commission). This means the process might be quicker for many positions.
2. Exceptions: There are six specific positions where the PSC’s review will still be required. These include:
Company Commander
Junior Officer (Accounts)
Junior Auditor
Ayurvedic Pharmacy Officer
Assistant Mining Inspector
Mining Inspector
3. Transition Period: For these six roles, the PSC will continue to be involved until the recruitment process for these positions is complete. This ensures a smooth transition under the new rules.
4. Deletion from Schedule:
The items listed as Serial No. (vii), (viii), (ix), and (x) are to be removed from the Schedule.

These changes are designed to make the recruitment process more efficient and less bureaucratic for most positions. By removing the need for PSC consultation for most Group-C posts, the government aims to speed up hiring and reduce delays. However, for certain key positions, the PSC’s involvement will ensure that the process remains thorough and fair.
These shall come into force from 16th July 2024
