The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has released the schedule for the Formative Assessment Test (FAT) 2023. This schedule was published by a public notice dated April 29, 2024.
Key Events of the Examination
- Exam Dates:
- FAT Theory Examination: June 9th, 2024 (two sessions – morning & afternoon)
- Workplace-Based Clinical Assessment: July/August 2024 (start date)
- Application Process:
- Online portal opens May 1st, 2024 (details to be announced)
- Training institutions register and pay fees (Rs. 6000 per candidate)
- Admit Cards: Issued to training institutions by June 1st, 2024
- Eligibility:
- Applies to specific trainee groups based on admission year and course duration (details in press release)
- Candidates who missed FAT-2022 can appear in FAT-2023
A separate FAT will be conducted for FNB trainees (admission session 2023) at a later date. Additionally, appearance in minimum required numbers of FAT is mandatory towards eligibility for appearing in final DNB/DrNB/FNB/NBEMS Diploma examinations.
