Nationwide Digital Life Certificate Campaign 3.0: Empowering Pensioners through Technology

The Department of Pension and Pensioners Welfare has unveiled the guidelines for the third nationwide Digital Life Certificate (DLC) campaign, set to run from November 1–30, 2024. This extensive campaign will span 800 cities and districts across India, aiming to enhance digital accessibility for pensioners. During this period, pensioners will use various technological methods—such as face authentication, iris scanning, and video-KYC—to submit their annual life certificates. This notification was published on August 10, 2024.

The campaign will involve collaboration between pension disbursing banks, India Post Payments Bank, pensioners’ welfare associations, and government bodies like UIDAI and MeitY. The DLC 3.0 initiative builds on previous campaigns, with DLC 1.0 and 2.0 achieving significant milestones. This year’s effort aims to surpass previous records, ensuring comprehensive digital engagement for Central Government, Defense, and EPFO pensioners. Real-time monitoring of the campaign will be facilitated through a dedicated portal.
