The University Grants Commission (UGC) vide notification dated August 17, 2022 has directed the Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) and its affiliated colleges/institutions to adopt the “National Strategy on Additive Manufacturing (NSAM)” as released as part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav by Ministry of Electronics & Information Technology (MeitY). The National Strategy on Additive Manufacturing (NSAM) has following objectives:
- Mitigate immediate disabilities of the local industries to embrace digital technologies.
- Achieve Manufacturing Value of US$ 1 Trillion per annum.
All Higher Educational Institutions (HEIs) and its affiliated colleges/institutions shall explore and initiate suitable programmes to recommended under the “National Strategy on Additive Manufacturing (NSAM)”.
