The Department of Heavy Industry through notification dated the 9th June, 2021 has issued a Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme, ‘National Programme on Advanced Chemistry Cell (ACC) Battery Storage’ for implementation of giga-scale ACC manufacturing facilities in India. Through this Scheme, the Government of India intends to optimally incentivize potential investors, both domestic and overseas, to set- up Giga-scale ACC manufacturing facilities with emphasis on maximum value addition and quality output and achieving pre committed capacity level within a pre-defined time-period.
Incentive will not be offered to the conventional battery pack segment of the industry as it is already happening
in India. The Production Linked Incentive scheme, ‘National Programme on Advanced Chemistry Cell (ACC) Battery
Storage’ has been formulated with the approval of Union Cabinet as per the parameters given in the subsequent
paragraphs.
