University Grants Commission on 27th October, 2023 has directed all higher educational institutions to encourage students to participate in the National Environment Youth Parliament-2024 (NEYP-2024), an initiative aimed at fostering environmental awareness and leadership among the youth of our nation.
The NEYP-2024 aspires to provide a dynamic platform for the youth, uniting them in purposeful dialogue, actions, and initiatives to address the pressing environmental challenges we collectively face. Through a variety of activities such as seminars, workshops, panel discussions, interactive sessions, and policy debates, this initiative aims to nurture holistic solutions by engaging students and young individuals from diverse backgrounds for the benefit of both our environment and the next generation of green leaders in lndia.
The primary objectives of NEYP-2024 include:
- Green Leadership: Empowering young individuals with leadership skills and a sense of responsibility towards environmental stewardship.
- Youth Engagement: Encouraging active participation and fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation for nature’s intricacies.
- Decision-Making: Equipping participants with tools to make informed decisions on environmental matters.
