The Maharashtra Pollution Control Board vide its notification dated 13th November 2020 has decided to grant conditional consent to dye and dye intermediate industries, integrated textile units, units of cotton, woolen,carpet having printing/dyeing/bleaching process or manufacturing garment units in order to monitor and control pollution.
The Hon’ble Supreme Court has directed national environmental research institute and central pollution control board to prepare action plan and to implement it and has asked MPCB to incorporate colour as a parameter for discharge standard.
Earlier the consent was granted without incorporating any colour parameter, however based on the direction it has now revised the consent and has incorporated colour parameter with discharge standard of 150P.C.U for all integrated textile units, units of cotton, woolen/carpet/polyester units having printing/dyeing/bleaching process or manufacturing garment units and 400 hazen unit for dye and dye intermediate industries.
Therefore all industries shall company with the disposal standard on the colour parameters by 31st December 2020.
