More PG Medical Seats on the Horizon

The National Medical Commission (NMC) has made significant progress in processing applications for new postgraduate medical courses and increased seat allocations for the upcoming academic year 2024-25. The latest update in this respect was issued on April 1, 2024.

The NMC’s Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) announced that they have reviewed and communicated decisions on an additional 68 applications. These applications involve proposals for both launching entirely new PG medical programs and expanding the number of seats in existing programs.

This update follows a series of previous announcements dated March 11th, 12th, and 15th, 21st, and 22nd, 27th, 28th and 29th, 31st 2024. The NMC has assured that they are continuing to review the remaining applications and will notify institutions in due course.

Hence, as of date, the MARB has communicated decisions on over 1675 applications.

This development signifies positive news for aspiring medical graduates in India. With more programs and seats becoming available, they will have greater access to specialized training opportunities, potentially leading to a better-equipped medical workforce in the future.
