The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) has issued an office memorandum enhancing the stipends for medical and dental interns in central government institutions or hospitals. This OM was dated March 4, 2024.
The new rates of stipends will be as under:
For Medical Interns (MBBS Interns)
Rs. 30,070 per month with effect from January 1, 2022
For BDS Interns of RIMS, Imphal
Rs. 30,070 per month with effect from January 1, 2022 along with Rs. 23,500 per month with effect from November 1, 2018 and Rs. 26, 300 per month with effect from January 1, 2020.
The OM also states that the arrears due will be given to the interns from the effective dates and the expenditure involved on the said revisions shall be met from sanctioned budget grant of the concerned institute or hospital.
