The Ministry of Labour and Employment vide notification dated 25th February 2022 has declared that the services of the industries engaged in the manufacture or production of mineral oil (crude oil), motor and aviation spirit, diesel oil, kerosene oil, fuel oil, diverse hydrocarbon oils and their blends including synthetic fuels, lubricating oils which is covered under Industrial Disputes Act, 1947, to be a public utility service.
The Central Government has lastly declared the said industries to be public utility services for the purposes of the said Act for a period of six months from 27th August 2021. However, the Ministry has now further extended the period for another six months with effect from 25th February 2022, in the public interest.
