The Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MOEFCC) on 4th August, 2022 has issued notification regarding Import/Export of Mercury. The notification contains procedure for grant of Prior Informed Consent (PIC) for the import and export of mercury. Both import and export require in common the submission of application supported with environmental permissions obtained along with an affidavit owning all liabilities, among other procedures to be followed.
