The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has released a draft application form for manufacturers seeking enlistment in the Approved List of Models & Manufacturers (ALMM) for solar photovoltaic (PV) cells, and is inviting public comments and suggestions. This draft was issued on February 24, 2025.
It may be recalled that the MNRE had issued an Office Memorandum (OM) dated December 9, 2024, regarding the implementation of the ALMM for solar PV cells, aimed at ensuring the quality and reliability of solar components used in India. Now, in continuance of this directive, the MNRE has issued the draft application form.
Draft Application Form Released
The MNRE has enclosed the draft application form as an annexure and is seeking feedback from stakeholders to refine and improve the document.
The MNRE is actively seeking views, comments, and suggestions on the draft application form. Interested parties are requested to submit their views, comments, and suggestions on the draft application form by March 11, 2025, via email to Shri Sanjay G. Karndhar, Scientist-E, MNRE, at: karndhar.sg@nic.in
ALMM Implementation
The ALMM is a key initiative by the MNRE to promote the use of high-quality and reliable solar PV cells in India. By establishing a list of approved manufacturers and models, the government aims to enhance the overall performance and longevity of solar power projects.
