The Ministry of Textiles has issued notification regarding BIS standard on Viscose Staple Fibre. Ministry of Textiles has proposed that BIS Standards for Viscose Staple Fiber has to be made mandatory. All the Viscose staple fibre manufacturing plants in India have been issued the BIS license on the explicit condition that they will mark entire/substantial production which conforms to the Indian standards.
The proposal shall be implemented after receiving public comments and after notifying World Trade Organization.
