The Ministry of Textiles has issued an order extending the requirement of jute packaging for specified commodities up till 30th September, 2023.
It may be recalled that the Ministry had passed an order dated 31st March, 2023, requiring a minimum production of food grains and sugar to be packaged in jute packaging material. This requirement was set to be in force up till 30th June, 2023.
However, by the present order the Ministry of Textiles has extended the applicability of the requirements of the original order. The present order stipulates that the requirements for the use of jute packaging material will be in force till 30th September, 2023.
