The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways on 25th May 2021 has published the Central Motor Vehicles (Tenth Amendment) Rules, 2021 through which it notified the Requirements for motor vehicles of Categories L, M and N running on anhydrous ethanol or blends of ethanol with gasoline.
As per rule 115K the safety requirements of motor vehicles of Categories L, M and N running on anhydrous ethanol or blends of ethanol with gasoline, with fuel specifications as specified under the said rules, shall be in accordance with AIS 171:2021, as amended from time to time, till the corresponding Standard is notified under the Bureau of Indian Standard Act, 1986.
