The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways department in its notification dated 7th October 2020 has published the Central Motor Vehicles Draft Amendment Rules, 2020 inviting Objections or suggestions from the public on the draft rules which may be addressed to the Joint Secretary (MVL,IT & Toll), Email: jspb-morth@gov.in, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Transport Bhawan, Parliament Street, New Delhi-110 001.
The Amendment is brought under rule Rule 14 (2), which specifies the procedure for submission of application for International Driving Permit, which has been substituted, as follows:
An application for an International Driving permit shall be made online through the portal www.parivahan.gov.in in Form 4A and shall be accompanied by a valid driving licence issued by the licensing authority under these rules, appropriate fee as specified in rule 32 and three copies of the applicant’s recent passport photograph with valid proof of Indian Nationals and a valid proof of passport.
The said draft rules shall be taken into consideration after the expiry of a period of thirty days from the date on which the copies of this notification as published in the Official Gazette, are made available to the public.
