The Ministry of Power (MoP) has issued a notification revising the Energy Performance Standards for Distribution Transformers. This notification was published on December 11, 2023.
The notification extends the validity of energy efficiency norms of distribution transformers that are up to 200kva. These norms will now apply to these distribution transformers until 31st December, 2024. Hence, the validity of these norms now ranges from from 1st July, 2017 to 31st December, 2024.
Similarly, the notification also revises the standard losses in watts up to 11 KV Class. These cover ratings above 200 kVA. The notification has revised the table of standard losses. This revised table will be valid from 1st July 2017 to 31st December, 2024.
