Ministry Of Mines Amends Quality Control Orders On Nickel, Copper and Aluminium and Aluminium Alloys

The Ministry of Mines has issued amendments to the three Quality Control Orders (QCOs). All three amendments were published on May 2, 2024 have come into immediate effect.

The Ministry has introduced the following QCOs:

1. Nickel (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2024, which will amend the Nickel (Quality Control) Order, 2023
2. Copper (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2024 which will amend the Copper (Quality Control) Order, 2023 and
3. Aluminium and Aluminium Alloys (Quality Control) Amendment Order, 2024 which will amend the which will amend the Aluminium and Aluminium Alloys (Quality Control) Order, 2023

Through these amendments, the Ministry has extended the date from which each of these QCOs shall come into force. These enforcement dates were originally fixed as August 31, 2023 and have now been extended till December 1, 2024.

Therefore, stakeholders have been granted additionally time for complying with the requirements of these QCOs.
