Ministry of Health and Family Welfare issues guidelines to Hotels/Lodging facility

Ministry of Health and Family Welfare have issued guidelines for prevention of transmission and disinfection of hotels/lodging facility where suspect/confirmed COVID 19 cases have been housed. The notification seeks to provide interim guidance about the environmental cleaning/ decontamination in hotels/lodging facilities where persons with potential exposure to COVID 19 have housed.

The following guidelines are to be followed:

  1. The hotel staff at the receptions are to be well versed in hand hygiene, respiratory hygiene and protocols to be followed if a guest develops symptoms. They should also be trained to handle guests with symptoms. and shall be provided with personal protective equipment.
  2. The travel and residential history of the guests must be taken including information if they have been in contact with a known case within past 14 days.
  3. The hotel staff must instruct the guests to maintain good personal hygiene. They must also provide the guests with alcohol based hand rub containing 70% Alcohol in public areas at all times and surgical masks in case they develop respiratory symptoms.
  4. Maintain hotel hygiene and and equipment for disinfection.
