Ministry of Finance notifies discount on the Sovereign Gold Bond Scheme 2022-23.

The Ministry of Finance on 20th June 2022, in consultation with the Reserve Bank of India, has decided to allow discount of Rs. 50 (Rupees Fifty only) per gram from the issue price to those investors who apply online and the payment is made through digital mode. For such investors, the issue price of Gold Bond will be 5,041 (Rupees five thousand forty one only) per gram of gold.     

The Sovereign Gold Bonds 2022-23 (Series I) will be opened for subscription during the period June 20-24, 2022 with a Settlement date till June 28, 2022. The issue price of the Bond during the subscription period shall be Rs 5,091 (Rupees five thousand ninety one only) per gram.

The Gold Bonds issued under this Scheme can be invested by a Trust, HUFs, Charitable Institutions, Universities, or an individual resident in India, individual, or on behalf of a minor child, or jointly with any other persons.

The Minimum permissible investment will be One gram of gold and Individuals may subscribe up to 4 kg, HUFs up to 4 kg, and trusts and similar companies up to 20 kg per fiscal year as specified by the government from time to time.
