Mega Cleanliness Drives with citizen participation & partner mobilization

The Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs has launched a Mega Cleanliness Drives with citizen participation & partner mobilization as part of Swachhata Hi Seva 2024. By integrating citizen participation with partner mobilization, these Mega Cleanliness Drive aim to tackle general swachhata challenges across local bodies through active involvement of citizens and partners from various sectors. Indicative cleaning activities are as follows:

1. Offices & institutional buildings
2. Commercial and Market areas
3. Educational institutions
4. Public transport hubs, major roads & highways, railway tracks
5. Sanctuaries, zoo areas, trekking and camping sites
6. Water bodies and nallas
7. Tourist spots, religious & spiritual places
8. Legacy waste sites
9. Cleaning and upgrading of Community and Public Toilets/Community Sanitation Complexes
10. Refurbishment, repair, painting and maintenance of all SBM Assets such as waste collection vehicles, waste processing plant sites and surrounding areas etc
11. Local needs as determined by local bodies
