The Ministry of Corporate Affairs through notification dated 22nd July, 2021 has commenced the operation of section 4 of Companies (Amendment) Act, 2020 w.e.f 1st September, 2021. The amendment mandates that the Companies shall change its name within a period of 3 months (as against 6 months), upon the receipt of direction from the Central Government.
The amendment also empowers the Central government to allot a new name to the company if the Company fails to rename itself within the period stipulated.
