Madhya Pradesh Updates CIS Portal for Efficient Inspections

On March 3, 2025, the Government of Madhya Pradesh issued a notification concerning updates to the Computerized Centralized Inspection System (CIS) portal. This notification, aimed at improving the efficiency of the inspection process, focuses on adding new institutions and removing closed ones from the portal.

Key Highlights of the Notification:

Self-Management of Institutions on the CIS Portal:

The government has made it possible for District Labour Offices to manage the list of registered establishments directly through their respective login IDs. This includes the ability to:

  • Add new institutions worthy of inspection.
  • Remove closed institutions after proper investigation.
  • Transfer institutions and mark them as temporarily or permanently closed.

No Need for Separate Permission:

In the past, district offices had to seek separate permission from the headquarters for these updates. However, under this new system, district offices can directly perform these tasks without needing approval from the headquarters, streamlining the entire process.

Training for District Officers:

To ensure smooth implementation, training has been provided to all district officers regarding the new features and how to use the CIS portal effectively. This will enable them to manage the inspection process more efficiently.

Technical Assistance Available:

In case of any technical issues while performing the updates on the CIS portal, the CIS Help Desk is available for support. District offices can reach out to the help desk via:

  • Email: helpdesk@mpidc.co.in
  • Phone: (0755) 2559979, 9926371354, 6268235118

    Implications for District Labour Offices:

The update empowers District Labour Offices to independently manage their inspection data, including:

    • Adding institutions for inspections as required.
    • Removing institutions that are no longer operational or closed.
    • Marking institutions temporarily or permanently closed, reducing delays and improving the overall functionality of the inspection system.

By allowing district offices to directly manage these tasks, the government aims to enhance operational efficiency, reduce administrative bottlenecks, and ensure that the inspection process is always up to date.

This change is expected to improve transparency and accuracy in the management of inspections across the state, benefiting both employers and workers by ensuring timely and relevant inspections.

    Conclusion:

The update to the CIS portal marks a significant step toward modernization and decentralization in Madhya Pradesh’s labour inspection system. District officers now have more autonomy and control over the inspection process, streamlining the workflow and reducing the need for bureaucratic delays. This move reflects the state government’s commitment to improving the ease of doing business while ensuring fair and timely inspections of registered establishments.
