The Madhya Pradesh Government through gazette notification issued on 16 March, 2021 has published the Madhya Pradesh Co-operative Societies (Amendment) Bill, 2021 to replace the Madhya Pradesh Co-operative Societies (Amendment) Ordinance, 2021. The bill aims to provide financial support and assistance to economically weaker sections of the society and farmers through the cooperative movement in the state.
The amendment empowers the registrar of co-operative societies to appoint a committee to assist the administrator of central or apex societies in discharge of his duties. The committee shall consist of :
- One representative of the registrar
- One representative of the financing institutions
- Three members of the society who are eligible to be elected as a member of the board of directors of the society.
